Hello all,

Just acquired a 55 plate 2.0 V6 Sport.

Wanted to join this forum as it's my first ever Jag and I hear you're the guys in the know.

Any how, no real issues with the motor, 40k on the clock, full history from Jag and really well looked after.

Just a niggly knocking noise coming from the underside on uneven roads.

Anyone had the same?

Hi welcome to the club hope you enjoy forum and your first jag but need a bit more info ie what area of car is noise coming from is it a metalic noise or a dull thud.

Hi guys,

Feel like a lord sat in the Jag - what a lovely ride it is.

The knocking noise is just that  - a knocking noise either from the underside or from the front.

I had a similar noise in a previous car and it turned out to be worn top mounts.

I can't imagine the Jag would have worn them out. Car is 55 plate, 40k on the clock with a full Jag history. The previous owner said that Jaguar mentioned that it was a loose exhaust mount but surely the noise would be audible when going over speed humps?

I get it over uneven road surfaces but not over humps.

Any help appreciated and if anyone knows of a good Jag specialist in the Ealing/Hanwell area please do recommend?

Many thanks,

Welcome to the club Jigs,

I had the same noise but from the rear on leaving the park and ride car park, it has humps, sounded awaful. but after my mot, the Haflords "yes Halfords there very good" manager said they had replaced the rear exhaust mount, the noise gone :) . may be worth checking, its cheaper than top mounts.

happy motoring.

I'll have a look on the weekend. Many thanks for the suggestion and good to know Halfords are not all that bad!
