New XJR Owner

Hi Guys

I'm looing at buying an XJR. I have seen one for £3250 @ 90k miles on the clock. It has had some performance upgrades which I am not too fussed about, but liked the car overall. It has a full service history which I was pleased with.

Does this sounds too cheap to be a good one? I read somewhere that you should be looking at 5-6k for a decent one. From what I could tell, it drove well and I couldn't see or feel anything wrong from the car (from a novice's perspective).

Are there any known issues with that car that you could help a novice to spot?

Any comments or feedback would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the club

Apart from checking the past service history very thouroughly you can check the past MOT's online as ell

But you will need the v5c nuber of the car or a past MOT number

https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status-vehicle

From this you can check all MOT's of the car to see if it has had previous failiures and work that was needed. May give you some indication of its reliability from a structural perspective.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

An additional option you have is to get the likes of the AA to inspect the car for you.  As the car is more than 8 years old you'd have to opt for the more expensive full inspection - mine cost £280.00 but I think worth every penny especially for peace of mind.

Good luck,

Dave
