Hi Folks! Sorry if this has already been asked somewhere! My 2004  'S' diesel is only blowing hot air out and I have been advised to check the function of the 'cool air servo'? Trouble is I have no idea where to find it!! Can anyone help out here please as I am very quickly melting away every time I drive my old girl!

Thanks gang.

Common issue that I'm in the middle of dealing with at the moment.

First, do you have Sat Nav fitted? If so the route is different as the RCCM is located behind the glove box, whereas non SatNav models it is behind the radio console.

The heating and cooling system uses:

1) a valve which is located just behind the radiator on the drivers side. It is two pots with three pipes coming off it.

2) Remote Climate Control Module, RCCM, to interprete what you are asking the system to do in order to open or close the valve as required.

One scenario is that that the valve can fail, which takes out the RCCM. As the valve is £80 and the RCCM is £500, it makes sense to find out what has happened.

This my main point of reference:

Just remember the driver and passenger are reversed.

Take your time, see what you find.

Thanks for that Styper! It's a non- Satnav version so I will have a nose round and see what I can find!

Well good news for once!! It was neither the RCCM or the valve...........just a broken wire between the two! 3 hours labour by the lads at Lincoln Jag Specialists and it's sorted. Cold air again.........thank the Lord!!! Can't praise the lads highly enough.....definitely recommend them. Many years experience and cheerful and polite with it! Thanks Daz and Dave!

Where was the broken wire?

I'm trying to get the front bumper off to check the loom, but it isn't budging,so I'd like to know if I'm wasting my time if the wire is easy to get to elsewhere.

Styper.......................sorry for delay in reply. I'm afraid I didn't think to ask where the break was, I was just grateful it wasn't serious! I'm sure the lads would be happy to tell you if you gave them a call though, they are very helpful.

Sadly this is what has happened to mine, £1019.00 to have it fixed at JMD  :(  ouch!

Mike
