Hi guys in my car iv got the alpine premium sound with sat nav.

My question is, is their a way to replace the std amp in the boot with an aftermarket one, as everything I read shows the auido signal to the amp from the head unit is via an optic cable so no rca leads.

Cheers

Hi Ricky

I'm not to sure about fibre optic aftermarket amplifiers but most of the top end prestige cars seem to be equipped with them from the factory.

I'm sure if you fitted an aftermarket one how it may affect the operation with regards to the CanBus network and if it will need coding in.

I hope some other members may have come across this one and can help you with more information.

Regards,    Trevor

Thank you I wondered if it would be an encoded signal or just like an optical out on a stereo so I would just need a converter. The problem I have is the subs on parcel shelf have blown so if fitted a sub with amp into the boot by splicing into sub cables off the std amp, but since its not a pre amp signal it just sounds cack lol.
