I am smitten with the Mark II and got an S-Type as a more practical daily motor. In my dreams I'd like a Beacham reconditioned example in grey with red/maroon leather.

my first love affair with cars was in the late sixties when I got to sit in a MkII and can still bring to mind the smell of the leather and wood    :)

Me too Trevor, late 60's was when I got hooked by the MkII. It took me until last year before I owned a Jaguar, an S-type, which truly is the son of the MkII and I love it. Good article by the way. Best wishes Geoff.
