Hi there, not long since buying an X Type 2.0D on a 53 plate with 101k on. Tidy looking car, but has running issues. When we went to view the car initially it ran VERY poorly with engine management light on. Diagnostic tools said injector 3 faulty. It was replaced, running better but still very poor with intermittant stalling. It turns out it was not coded. Luckily I work for jaguar, so I took it in to be coded. Since then it runs a lot better, but still not 100%. It still struggles to start properly and smoothly, and when starting sounds rough and has a lot of whitey smoke coming out the exhaust. It drives ok, but with intermittant throttle hesitation, and a slight judder when accelerating below 2,500rpm. We also tryed cleaning the EGR which was caked. No better :( the guys at work are stumped...? Help?

Hi Tom...and welcome to the club !

Injector coding can be problematic on these engines.

I would suggest that the coding may not have taken...e.g.  one digit out when inputting the code?
