Hi everyone joined last night as only just heard of the owners club, looks a very good and friendly forum. I have a 1994 XJ40 3.2s one of the last made and am very fond of it and being a late model it does not have the usual XJ40 foibles as Ford had, by this time, sorted most of the gremlins. Beautifully smooth to drive and the straight six engine is a delight!

I had to fit a new battery yesterday as finally decided that this was the reason for the non-start and not an electrical leak but had to disconnect the battery to eventually isolate the fault. When I reconnected the alarm went off in spite of the security switch being off and it had never done this in the two years I have had it. Fitted the new battery, all was well, took the car for a drive and noticed none of the instruments were working nor the warning lights. After much head scratching I found that the 3amp security fuse, located in the passenger footwell, had blown so fitted new one and everything now works. Thought this might be of interest. Simon
