Hello richgreenjag, the tool for rewinding the pistons can be used on both front calipers as they just push back, the rear pistons are handed, one turns clockwise to move it back, the other anticlockwise. Whatever tool you get it must have 2 rewind keys, I got a universal set off ebay. Also worth mentioning, when finishing winding the rears back leave the slots at the top and bottom (12.30) as the pads have a little pin that must locate into one of the slots. Also make sure the new pads have antisqueal shims on the back if they don't they will rattle like mad and drive you crazy, just ask the salesperson to have a look before buying it'll look like a bit of rubber coated steel stuck on the back of the pad.

Hello richgreenjag If your refering to the bolts that hold the caliper to the retaining bracket then its 30Nm for the front and 32Nm for the rear or the bolts that hold the retaining plates to the hub (that you have to remove to change the discs) then its 133Nm for the front and 70Nm for the rear, you'll struggle with a 50mm clamp and its best to push the piston back when the caliper is held by one bolt (bottom one) on the retaining bracket. Don't try pushing the rear pistons back with a G clamp as these need to be wound back due to the handbrake, if unsure about the rear check www.bluejag.co.uk/rearbrakedisks.php for helpful tips. Hello Fraser, soft pedal can be caused by - Old brake fluid, the fluid should be changed every 1 to 2 years and should be super dot 4 (wrong fluid for abs not good), as fluid ages it collects moisture and air which affects pedal feel. Damaged/worn brake hoses which expand when put under pressure causing soft pedal, rear hoses on X Type can rub on wheel rim and fuel pipe from filler to tank. Simple way to check, sit in car and start engine, press pedal 2 or 3 times and it goes firm. Fluid is easy to flush through and change, hoses easy to change, front pads easy to change, rear pads are easy but you need a special tool to wind caliper back (lucky you've had these done) All the best, Pete.
