Just had a look on eBay 2012 disks are available but it says theyare for the xf. Will it work with the xtype dvd Rom?

Hi all will the dvd drive read a disk from a newer jaguar or does it have to be from an X-TYPE as mine is quite out dated?

Hi all can someone with more knowledge of X-TYPES please tell me when Jaguar made the changes to the sills to help stop them rotting, my local mechanic seems to think it was 2005 is this true?

Main parts needed are sat nav dvd player in the boot, climate control ecu for under the dash wiring loom and touchscreen unit.

Hi all I've got the opportunity to buy a v6 sport X-TYPE which has the touchscreen dvd sat nav system fitted.

My question is will all the parts work when  I fit it in my 2.0D? Ive been on eBay and noticed that the climate control unit is available with different part numbers. 

Has anyone come across any issues swapping it out of a petrol car to a diesel?

Evening all just a quick and possibly stupid question.

I've got the opportunity to buy a v6 sport X-TYPE which has failed it's mot on the sills and a front spring and strut, I had a 2.0D which I'm currently breaking would the struts be the same?.

If it needs to much welding then I will be scrapping it after I've taken the touchscreen etc out for mine.

Mot till 22nd November this year         
Cream leather interior 
Great economic family car.
Has a few age related scratches but nothing too serious.
Alloy wheels with good tyres.
Air con ice cold.
Cruise control all working fine.
Done 139000 miles which is nothing for one of these engines.

£750 on

Hi all I've recently purchased another 2.0D x-type. After looking at what was wrong with it I've decided to break it for parts.

It seems a shame as it has an mot till September.

But it's either the clutch that has gone or the dual mass flywheel as there is a lot of vibration when the engine is ticking over.

Hi what year is the X-Type?

I'm breaking one at the moment but it's an 04 plate and I don't think they have reflectors in the bumper, I will have a look tomorrow for you.

Hi all I'm currently running a 2003 2.0D X-Type with a 5 speed gearbox. I have a 2007 parts car which has the 6 speed box. Is it possible to swap out the 5sp for the 6sp?

I used to  have a mondeo tdci which had the 130 engine and a 6sp box which got me thinking as it's the same engine in theory it should bolt straight on, I'm just wondering if anyone has done it

Hi all I've recently bought a jaguar  touchscreen for my 2003 X-Type. And my question is will it still work as a normal stereo/heater if I just buy the climate control module as I not to worried about the sat nav side of things 

The car already has auto climate control fitted so will I also need to change the wiring.

Any help would be much appreciated 

Hi from what I have been told non of the X-Type stereos have an aux socket.

Had a code reader on the car today and it showed p0251.

Anyway I changed the injectors for 4 I had from a donor engine and she fired into life, granted it was a bit lumpy as they weren't coded. But I think I might have solved the issue.

Does anyone know what software I can use with a elm327 to recode the injectors 

OK thanks. I've got a cheap code reader but it won't communicate with the car so I need to find another one that will.

Also it's got an egr blanking plate fitted would that be a problem.

I'm checking the fuses etc tomorrow 

Hi all I've recently bought a 2.0D X-Type for spares or repair. The guy said he suspected the fuel pump had gone. On having a look the engine seems to be getting fuel. And there was no metal particals in the filter.

Does seem a shame as it's a lovely car and it's got mot till November. 

Any advice on where to check next would be gratefully received 

Hi there I've had to change all 4 injectors as they weren't holding pressure. I've got 4 more from a donor engine.

My problem is do I need to use the codes on the rocker cover or the codes on the donor injectors.

Any advice would be helpful as I'm really confused 

Hi there the module is located in the boot on the left hand side in the spare tire well. There is plenty on eBay for sale.

Are you sure it's the module. Do the sensors make a clicking noise when the car is stationary and in reverse?

If it's the sensors that are faulty and it's the rear ones I have 4 for sale
