  1. Hi, new member here. I have seen on previous posts that the driver's door module is clearly a recognised problem. Having played around with the locks on my S Type I am pretty confident that the problem lies with the DDM. I would have been happy enough to disconnect it and manually lock/unlock but the windows don't work which is frustrating... I have checked earlier posts but cant find the answer I am looking for so hopefully you can assist? The part installed in my car (2000 4.0 S Type) has a part number: YW4T-13C791-BA this is prefixed: B and has a DDM-B as below. I have searched eBay and there are loads of door modules but none with an exact part number match? I can find XW4T and 2W4T and DDM's of BA, BF etc but none that match EXACTLY. So, the main question is: Do I need an exact match or are the parts later numbers? In a previous post I saw that the DDM letter/number is relevant as it matches the key(s)? Is that right? And the part is programmable, do I need to take it in to a garage to get it actually programmed to the car? Also, can just the actually locking element of the module be extracted and replaced or does it need the whole unit? This car has 126k on the clock, so I am a little trepidatious of purchasing a used module tbh as I don't want this happening again. I have found a parts dealer in Birmingham, 'David Manners Group' which appears to stock both OEM and pattern parts yet interestingly this part number yields no hits? Is this parts dealer any good? Can anybody recommend a reliable source of parts? All assistance gratefully accepted.
