  1. Ok club members, I’m hooked. I brought my first Jaguar, a 2006 S-type and a real beauty (see photo #1).  My 83y.o. mother saw photos of it and wanted one for her own. I should add that I’m in London and she’s in Indiana. So being the good (and only) son, I bought her a 2006 S-type. It needed quite a bit of attention and I’ve made sure that is sorted. She loves it! (See photo #2) The interior leathers will get a good clean and conditioning in a fortnight. Now for my dilemma.

I am thinking of another purchase. This time a 2010 XF. I haven’t found the right one yet but I’m looking. Have I lost my mind? Clearly there’s no cure.

    Hi Gary,

I got the full spec of my s type from a site called   Vindecoderx  which detailed the basic spec  plus the factory fitted options extras.  Sometimes, however it does not work.

    Peter.

Peter, I also tried that site. It claims (wrongly) that my VIN is for an X type with 174k miles! Thankfully Joe has helped me and it's all sorted now. Thanks to all for the advice.

    Gary

  3. As many of us, I want to know the original specifications for my S-type and have followed the suggestions posted here. However, I have not had any success. Rather, my polite requests have been met with a surly telephone service rep telling me that the information could not be circulated outside of their workplace and absolutely no response to emails sent to other dealerships. Perhaps it is typical of living in London that one should expect shoddy customer care.

That stated, if anyone has any other suggestions I would welcome the same. (I've also paid one of those online VIN services but it failed to provide any information beyond the most basic.)

    Hi Steve,

I had the same problem  ---  I found that I was in Belgium!

Felt a bit of a nana  --  I reset the map.

    Regards,

    Peter.

    Peter,

This piece of advice has very likely saved me time and angst! I read this before I decided to programme the sat nav yesterday. When I deleted all the saved destinations, home, and memory points and rolled it back to factory settings, I found myself in Belgium! No panic, I simply selected the U.K. and continued without missing a beat. Many thanks! Gary
