  1. So if I need to change a bulb I need to disconnect the battery so I do upset the self levelling. Also how do I know whether I have hid's or not.i pick my new jag up tomorrow and that's something I've missed off my check list to date
  2. which is best.ive fitted some hid's on my mates car but not seen or fitted any led's and how do they fit in the jag............is their something about unplugging the lights that stops the auto level or something.ive got a 2007 2.7d
  3. Well the time has come and I have sold my Honda civic type r tonight and I feel my research is now complete on the jag s type. I'm going to put a deposit on a 2007 s type 2.7d se with 81000 on the clock.ive been to view the car a few times now and the garage have let me take the sill covers off to have a nosey inside and they are immaculate.i have done everything I possibly could have done to ensure I'm getting a good deal.so here's what I'm getting S type 2.7d se 2007 with 81000 on the clock Both cam belts changed and new water pump 4x new tyres(they probably don't need doing tbh) 6 months parts and labour cover and all for the asking price of £4300. I will link the advert so you can have a nosey yourselves.let me know what you think https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201712232253028 I'm very excited to be able to drive my family round in such luxury. Thankyou for all the kind advice aswell
  4. I've got a jabra rf module which is pretty good so I will just use that.im sure the radio antenna in the jag is very good so should give a reasonable reception
  5. That's exactly what im going to do.i read the Wikipedia page on it and how it was slagged off by the press for its outdated looks and the top gear team basically said it was hideous.ha ha.now to me I think the s type is an absolutely beautiful looking car and I love everything about it so thanks Peter, that is exactly what I will do,enjoy the car
  6. Tbh.it doesn' really bother me but when he first mentioned it I panicked a bit
  7. Hi all.is there an aux input on the s type and if not can one be fitted.im pretty handy with electrics so could put one in if needed
  8. I' going to put a deposit on an s type tomorrow and my neighbour who is a back yard mechanic suggested that some s type models have more mondeo parts than some other s types.is this true?and if so how would I know whether the 2007 s type I'm buying would be more jag than ford.he basically suggested to steer clear of an s type that had mondeo bits and bobs so I'm asking you guys who probably are in the know defiantly rather than a folk law tale he may have heard once
  9. I love the S type and I like the x type but what are the differences? I have a budget of £4300 and seem to be able to buy a newer x type than the last 2007/08 S type I test drove an s type last week and loved it(2.7d) but are there any things the s type does better than the x type and vica versa? Which is best?????
  10. You lot are cool.thanks for your time guys.i really want this car and don't want to buy a lemon
  11. Is there a way to see potential rust on the sills without removing the sill cover.because the car is still with the dealer I don' think he'd be to happy with me removing bits.i am also ok with rub and rust proof once or twice a year but no good with a welder and I'm considering spending £4000 so could do without the hassle if I'm honest. Also what is the cure for the leaky boot.is it the seal that maybe needs some sort of paste or Vaseline to moistened up the rubber again
  12. Thanks for your replies folks.i took out a 2007 with 80800 miles on today and it was absolutely amazing.it had so much power and coming from a Honda civic type r 2009 I don' feel I'm losing in the power output in any way whatsoever.there was water in the boot but only a small amount.dealer said he would fix and then I will take through a car wash.it needed 4 x new tyres and there was a bit of uneven wear but nothing to concern me as the car drove pin straight and didn' move off line at any point.the only thing that concerned me was whilst doing about 30mph I plunged my foot to the floor and the gear box seemed to make a deep thud..........now I think I caught it between gear shift cycles as my old mazda auto did this sometimes and I couldn't get the car to do it again and I was in it for 1/2 hour.i will go back and check all the other things you guys have advised aswell.can I remove these sill covers easily without damaging anything as I won' own the car at that point but want to make sure it' right.is there a link to sill cover removal.thankz again folks
  13. Is their a link to potential problems with the s type. I' m Looking at 2007 2.7d with 63000 on the clock.what should I be looking out for? 2nd question is:how reliable is a jag s type? I know this is a very general question but I want to spend time driving rather than fixing Thanks in advance
  14. Hi all.thanks for the add.ive not bought my car yet but I'm looking at a 2007 s type. I' hoping you can help me with any pitfalls or problems before I part with my hard earned cash. I'm Also looking forward to having a laugh and keeping it real aswell
