New XF, cambelt service questions
Hi Grant, Sorry, I missed your previous post! I've bought two XF-Ss from Arun a 2011 and more recently a 2017 - I assume you've meat Duncan, Andrew and the rest of the crew there by now? I would suggest a chat with Andrew about the timing belt, etc., if you haven't done so already, although my understanding is that it isn't due for several thousand more miles. I'm just coming up to the first anniversary of getting my current one - MoT next week! Only problem I have (which will mean a chat with Andrew) is that my glowplugs are reluctant to do their stuff in cold weather - no a problem atm, of course, but need to get them (or the control module) sorted before Autumn! Enjoy your XF!!! Ceers, Jon

New ( to me)and first jaguar .
Hi Mark, I'm on my second Jaguar - both XF-S. First one I had the rear windows tinted - was great - transformed the look inside & out, don't remember the cost, though. Second (current) one came with factory tinted back windows, I'd say go for it! Cheers, Jon

Advice on buying 2017 XF
Hi Sofia, I bought a 2017 XF-S last year, my second XF (first was a 2011). Only problem so far is glow-plugs not working (cold weather only!), not sure if it's the plugs or the controller, but I need to get it seen to before next winter! BTW, I'm an Essex boi too, from Tilbury, now living in Sussex, where you at? Good luck with your XF - they're great! J

Accident & MoT
Hi All, Not a purely Jaguar question, but looking for a bit of advice... Returning recently from a trip to Ireland, my XF-S was rear-ended at a roundabout in Wales. The other driver has accepted responsibility and repairs are about to begin (phew!). My question arises from the fact that the MoT is due to expire shortly, so what happens if the repair isn't completed before it expires? Am I allowed to drive it for its test? Thanks for your thoughts! Cheers, Jon

car wax
I agree with Craig - ceramic coating is the way forward! I'm now running my second XF, had both coated, current one is really dark blue metallic (Loire Blue?), always looks great! J

X260 software update
Hi Peter, You can do this yourself, using the car's WiFi connection. I checked mine soon after I got the WiFi in my 2017 X260 up & running. There weren't any updates available at the time - thanks for your post - I'll be checking again now! Here's a link to the guide for doing it... Software Updates | InControl | Jaguar UK Good luck, Jon

Multiple faults... stressing me out!
Hi Paul, I can't explain what's going on (these cars are too complex), but as you're in Sussex (as am I), I'd suggest a trip to Arun Automotive in Ashington. I've had two XFs from them, and the service guys are great. Good luck! J

2017 XF S Instrument Panel
Thank you Jim & Nick! Jim, sorry for not replying sooner - I recognised the X250 in the video - had one of those until last year. Nick, I'll seek out the dimmer today - haven't noticed it so far, but that pesky control panel is hiding in plain sight. Cheers, Jon

2017 XF S Instrument Panel
Hi All, Is it possible to adjust the display brightness of the electronic instrument panel in a '17MY XF S? Mine seems a bit too bright at night! Can't find anything in the manual. Cheers, Jon

Low profile tyres
Hi John, I would guess so, unless you want to swap to smaller diameter wheels as well, to allow for taller tyres, otherwise the speedometer and odometer will be giving incorrect readings, which I'd guess would be illegal. Cheers, Jon

car handbook
Hi Andrew, in my experience, the handbook is generic. My current (2nd) XF manual describes everything (as did he previous one), sorry, but that's the way it is!

Reversing after parking on a downward slope
Hi Victor, Definitely no leak that I can see, definitely when cold. Looks like a visit to my local indy Jaguar dealer where I bought it (my second from them), is on the cards Thanks again, Jon

Reversing after parking on a downward slope
Hi Victor, No idea in my case, it's a 2017 XF S 3.0, I bought it a few months ago with 34K miles on it. Maybe should get it checked Thanks, Jon
