Probably not, depending whether yours is a facelift or not, you remove the two clip in panels next to the radio and drawer/cubby hole and remove the four bolts holding the radio/drawer assembly in, pull it out and you can then unplug and remove the CCM - later cars are different and i'm not sure how they come out. The small panel below the CCM also needs popping out, this houses the heated seat switches and behind it are two more bolts holding the CCM in.

You can see those two bolt holes, one near the aerial plug and if memory serves there's another pair, one each side further up.

Good luck with that, the fault may be within the CCM so if you can, it's worth unplugging that and trying another fuse - if the fuse survives then chances are it's the CCM.

what is CCM please - Many thanks

Yep #14 fuse blown  - replaced turned inaction on panel lite up for a sec then shutdown new fuse blown - so trying to look at wiring diagram to see where to start looking for a short.  Many thanks

OK, try fuse #14, 10A and fuse #20, 10A in the primary junction box. They could just need the blades cleaning to restore normal operation.

Can you alter things like fan speed, air direction (eg feet, screen, vents etc) and temperature? If so, it's safe to assume you have power to the Climate Control Pack and it would appear the VFD display has gone. However, sometimes they can "revive" themselves when the car is used and the circuits dry out again - high possibility the circuits boards have a certain amount of moisture on them.

nothing the panel is completely dead

    Hi Joe

    regards

  7. S type 2001 saloon 3.0 V6 Auto petrol UK model

After 4 weeks not using the car I find that there is no power to the complete Climate Control panel display. Im unable to locate a fuse or relay - any advise / help appreciated

  8. Good day Joe

Thanks for your very quick response.

    Please see below.

strange on, what happens when you press the throttle ( Nothing no acceleration )

have you plugged in a code reader and checked accelerator position sensor alters when you press the pedal ( I have a small unit I purchased from UK but no very good and it is not indicating and fault) A local garage used their instrument which was much more sophisticated than mine but again no fault was seen)

have you tried turning the key to position 2 and pressing the accelerator all the way down, slowly 3 times, before starting it ( I assume that the key in the OFF position i.e. when you have just inserted the key into the lock is position 1 - is this correct) please note presently I am in my office in Vietnam my car is at my main home in Miri Borneo so I will try and get someone to try this method.)

do you have any fault codes (No as explained above Joe)

    Many thanks stewart

  9. Previous problem - car would not start due to steering lock malfunction - after much checking without and progress I replaced ALL electronic modules  -Ign key and lock - Full dash board display etc all from one donor car (comparable with my cars VIN chassis etc details). Now everything works except once started in will only run on idle - ?? appreciate any help suggestions ect

    thanks

  10. Hi Raislin

i think we are getting somewhere - as mentioned in my opening post the local garage here ( small garage) in his limited English spoke something about the steering lock and asked if I had ? Code - I’m not sure what he was referring too - but from your post it seems he could be on the right trail - do you know what code he could be referring too- and if yes where would I obtain same

    many thanks Stewart

  11. Hi Peter thanks for your email - Ok the brief!! at first I thought it was the battery problem so tried to jump start (!! I know) but nothing - checked batteries found to be good. So I thought maybe a bad battery connection opened up terminals cleaned put back and - started no problem - all cured - so I thought - tried to start again an hour or so later - nothing turn the key no click sound nothing same as before, SOO cleaned the battery terminal again - nothing !! as above no click sound - came back the next day tried to start and it did start immediately

So Im  thinking of a loose or dry connection somewhere - relay - or starter connection terminal - or bad earth somewhere or possible the actual ignition switch itself.

  12. Hi this will be my first post .

    Car location Borneo

Problem:-recently - Intermittent starting - when attempting to start turning the ignition key most times nothing happens - no clicking nothing - then when I try again the car starts as normal - the garage here in Miri Borneo said it could be the steering lock problem ? - note the battery is fine - any input would be appreciated
