Forgot to mention, it unlocks okay, starts okay and opens the tailgate okay. What fun!

My dash flashed up the key fob battery low so I changed the battery, and now neither the doors nor fob will lock the car. I tried my pare fob, got the same warning message, changed the battery and, hey ho, it won't lock the car either. Anyone come across this or, more importantly, a fix?
