  1. Have not yet done anything about it as many more pressing problems have arisen. Sad to say I’m sorry I bought this motherf**ker.
  2. My 2004 x400 estate develops a violent shuddering when accelerating around 50 to 70+ 😉 it’s not wheel balance having just had them checked.my garage suggested bottom wishbones. Drop links and roll bar rubbers! £300+quid later still the same !!?. Suggestions? Anybody experienced the same and rectification!
  3. after fitting both new front wishbones I’m getting a Loud squeaking from them? My mechanic said the bushes are the problem. Anybody had the same?
  4. Solved!! Turns out it was a missing relay behind the glovebox. Thanks for the help
  5. I’ve just been advised after a problem with brake lights permanently on there is a split in the pedal box. After being advised by our friendly plod I took it to my mechanic who advised me to replace the assembly as a previous owner had used a cable tie to hold it together? Has anybody had a similar problem? And how easy/hard is the job?
  6. Thanks for the reply. You are correct I changed mine and the problem is solved. Also changed the main thermostat and head temperature sensor and water pump while I was at it.
  7. the switch on the end of the wiper stalk seems to be stuck! Unless I’m a dummy I cannot see how to operate it. HELP,!
  8. Solved!! It was the oil cooler thermostat bolted on the rear of the water pump
  9. My temperature gauge on my 2lt diesal is misbehaving!! I noticed it not recording normal temperature staying in the cold section,I determined that it was the thermostat! My garage replaced it while having a service, when I drove it away it was showing normal temperature, however after a few miles it started dropping? I was driving into London and in the usual traffic it held normal temperature, but on the journey home when on open roads and motorway the temperature gauge went to cold? Mystified is the word! As it help temperature in traffic one could assume the stat is working so why does it drop when on motorways. now it’s stays at a quarter of the gauge?

  11. Hi thanks for letting me join. my ride in a 2004 SE 2.0 diesal and there is a niggle with the illumination of the info window on the speedo and the temperature portion of the centre display? In daylight there almost impossible to see but at night there is a faint green glow! I’m hesitant to start removing stuff if it is normal.
