Hi, doesn't sound like a wheel bearing which would either get louder or disappear altogether on the corners depending which way the corner was going. I used to have a Hyundai that made a noise just like you describe, it would start quietly and build up till conversation would be impossible, only way to stop it would be to slow down to 40mph then accelerate again, the noise would be gone. My garage was completely stumped by it, I always thought it was some kind of tyre noise but never sussed it out.

Hi all, just read the bit about checking glow plugs and thought I would add this warning. Couple of years back I had a Hyundai i30 which got hard to start in cold weather, suspecting faulty glow plugs I took it to my local garage to get them changed. After changing the plugs the engine rattled, you got it, the tip had snapped off one of the old plugs and was rattling about in the cylinder, resulting in a scrap engine. Fortunately there are decent honest garages around and they accepted the mistake and fitted a replacement engine at no cost to me, I gather heater plug tips do occasionally snap off on removal so check properly before starting the engine again.

Hi, I have a 2016 XE 20D AWD and can check on previous services and distance to the next service and ad-blue top up from the computer menu. Page 50 to 53 in your handbook, I have not had the car very long and find the handbook absolutely essential, if you do not have one you can get an online version. Enjoy your car, I enjoy mine.

I find night driving with my 2016 XE, with H7 halogen bulbs, to be a strain on busy country roads because even set to their highest they are still too low, and they are simply not a good light, not a patch on my old Hyundai i30. Can anybody recommend an H7 bulb with a higher light output which will fit straight in. Thanks.

Hi Mark, Never had an XF but I have an XE, absolutely love it but I would almost class it as a 2+2, the driver and passenger can relax in luxury, the back seat is fine for kids but adults on a long run will feel cramped. A super car but not really a family car.

Hello Seamus, I have a 2016 XE awd in Fuji white, when polished up it is absolutely stunning, I also have a black lab, black labs and gleaming white cars do not go too well together. I bought a dog hammock from flea bay which fits perfectly in the back seat and found it a godsend for dirty dogs, if buying one get a good one and line it with a padded lining of some kind or the stitching may tear. This is my first auto as well and like you found it sometimes revs then snatches a gear, driving in eco mode definitely makes it less responsive to the throttle.

Hi all, I have had my first Jag, a 2016 XE diesel awd for a couple of months now and have never had as much fun driving as I have now. One thing I am not too sure about is that when joining a main road the engine can rev quite high, possibly about 1600 rpm before the auto box engages the gear, this causes a noticeable jerk. As this is not only my first Jaguar but my first auto car I don't know whether this is normal or not. It does not do this regularly but it has happened on quite a few occasions. Is this just a normal auto box?
