Having now been given access to a suitable touchscreen and climate control module and seeing that the loom is pre- fitted at the windscreen, I'm now seriously considering this retrofit

You only need the windscreen now mate

  2. Can anybody help please?

My S-Type diesel fires up first time every morning but then settles to a very lumpy idle and is not keen on revving. There are no warning lights. Produces white fumes from the exhaust which I believe are the result of unburnt diesel being ejected from the exhausts. This happens even if I switch the ignition on several times to make the golw plugs operate before firing the engine.

Within 5 minutes, this settles down and the engine runs sweet as a nut.

Re-starting any time afterwards after say, a few hours and it runs exactly as it should.

Any ideas or info would be appreciated please.

    Hi All

Acknowledgement to a post by X Type Den (Denis) "2003 S type Limited Edition Sport 200"

Who wanted some information, got me interested (Denis i hope this helps)

So i have done a bit of digging!

I got in touch with Jaguar, supplied my VIN and asked about my car. After several days, they responded, I asked whether my car is in fact a SPORT 200, or had someone just put on the badge, it appears its a genuine model! i also asked whether it was a limited production of just 200 vehicles, sadly no answer, however they suggested (as you will see) I contact the Jaguar heritage guys, so i'll be in contact with them shortly, and will update if i get any information.

In response, I asked Jaguar this morning if they could supply my build sheet, or point me in the right direction to get it. I did manage it once, but cant for the life of remember where i found it, I have tried Topix, but without success. So perhaps the Build sheet is another avenue to investigate.

On another website from 2011 (link below, does not appear to be working, but you can use Google to navigate there) i found the following, and have cut and pasted the relevant text. My car was built 12th May 2003 which fits quite nicely!

Apart from feeling like an excited little kid! i now have a Zillion questions (Well okay 4 at the moment! ;)

Do i have a legitimate case to stick a 'R' badge on her? perhaps not?

Did i get a result with the cost of the car? and actually got one over the dealer (albeit accidentally) who could have stuck a premium on her?

Should i let my insurers know?

Is it just suspension, and fittings that have been tweaked, or may be something with her engine? unlikley i know.

    Response from Jaguar

"Many thanks for raising this case - unfortunately the systems we use will list only options rather than marketing names - however we can tell you it is a factory fit 'R' performance edition with sports seats and suspension - for more information on your vehicle please try http://www.jdht.com/ if they cannot help you they will have a contact who may. Best Regards"

There were also a number of special/limited editions, including the Sport 200 that was introduced in May 2003 and which, as the name suggests, had its production run restricted to just 200 units. The dechromed Sport models were aimed at younger buyers and the `Sport 200' combined fast looks with such hi-spec items as: SAT/NAV, 18-inch Monaco alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheel, heated front screen, rear spoiler and electrically operated boot lid etc. - See more at: http://www.classic-auctions.com/Auctions/08-06-2011-ThePavilionGardens-1290/2003JaguarS-Type30LitreSport200-33183.aspx#sthash.wkIhnS4t.dpuf
The mean-looking Sport 200 example on offer was manufactured in 2003 and finished in Black with a Black leather interior. It is powered by the 3.0-litre V6 engine mated to automatic transmission. We are informed that it has recently benefited from a change of brake discs and pads and comes complete with hand and service books - the latter showing a mix of Jaguar dealer and specialist stamps. The vendor regards the bodywork, paintwork, engine and transmission as all "good". Such well-appointed S Types make rapid, fatigue-free mile-eaters and currently represent extraordinary value for money - See more at: http://www.classic-auctions.com/Auctions/08-06-2011-ThePavilionGardens-1290/2003JaguarS-Type30LitreSport200-33183.aspx#sthash.wkIhnS4t.dpuf
