  1. Hi I'm new to Jaguar and have just bought my first, a 2.2 X Type SE estate, 2007. I'm really pleased apart form one rather worrying thing. The brake pedal feels really soft and sinks when brakes are applied. i mentioned that the brakes seemed soft on my test drive and was told that they would feel softer than my previous car, a Skoda Octavia Vrs. I was assured that this would be looked at before I took delivery and new rear pads were fitted. However after giving the new pads about 300 miles to bed in. the brakes remain disconcertingly soft. I'm taking it back tomorrow to be assessed. ( I bought from an established Main dealer) Are X Type brakes usually soft or should I be asking questions? Would be grateful for any help/advice Fraser Britton
