  1. Sounds great James. you'll be sure to post a few pictures after the event to make those who couldn't attend (me included) jealous? Best regards, Dave
  2. Hi Justin, Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership. hope to see some pictures posted sometime. Re E-01, what I've read in other forums suggests there is a disc stuck in the mechanism, the fix is to remove the unit and open the cover revealing the mechanism inside. Where the casette is already out may suggest there is a disc on the playing holder. It is also recommended to give the working parts a clean and a light smear of white or silicone grease. Failing that you may have to source a replacement. Keep us informed how you get on. Best regards, Dave
  3. Hi Bob, Welcome to forum and Jag ownership. The R badge on the boot would normally denote the Type R, in other words the supercharged 4.2l V8, it was brought into being to compete with the BMW M5 and the Merc E55 AMG. The badge is normally found on the right of the rear registration plate, the Type R introduced in 2002 was fitted with an Eaton M112 supercharger producting 400bhp which would launch the car from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. mmmmmm Best regards, Dave
  4. HI Lukasz, welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, is this your first? If it is what a good way to start :D , hate to think what the insurance is........ :o Best regards, Dave
  5. Hi John, Welcome to the forum and potential Jag ownership, hope you get the advice to steer you. Good luck, Dave
  6. Hi Mark, I had a chat with the garage owner, chap called Steve, didn't have time to ask about your specific problems but he would be happy to take your call and discuss the issues you have with your XJS, he's glad it's one of the older ones as he says there were many changes before Jaguar ceased production. His name is Steve, call him on 01684 592271 - he probably wouldn't recall me by name, just say you're from the J.O.C. and I've spoken to you mention I drive the green V8 S-Type (he's all about cars). Good luck, Dave
  7. Hi Dave, Welcome to the club. You've got a good looking car there, my only question, how will you manage to keep the mileage low ;), I'd be inclined to drive it at every opportunity :D Best regards, Dave
  8. Hi Mark, I'm sure he would, he's the helpful sort. I'm in the garage on Wednesday, I'll ask him. Best regards, Dave
  9. Hi Styper, what sort of mpg do you get with her?
  10. I'd know what I'd like to do to them if found
  11. Hi Sandy, Have you simily done a google search? I've just used google images and found a couple of Jag examples: S-Type, XJ and XK - the only issue with the XK example the seller is based in the States so there would be an additional shipping cost. The other alternative could be a scrappies/breakers. Until you get yourself sorted you could always wrap the jack and tools in an old towel? Happy hunting, Dave
  12. Hi James, I don't think anyone here would any issues about the post - looks like a great event especially with so many Jags turning up. I'm out of the country on the first - maybe next year. Hope the weather holds out for you, all I ask, can you post a couple of pics to let us all see what we missed? Best regards, Dave
  13. Hi Dom, Welcome to the forum, did the b$%@&*d stop and give you an apology/details? Best regards, Dave
  14. Hi Mark, Welcome to the forum. I hope you get some response for your plea for help - a little outside of my skill set. If you were a little closer to Ledbury I could point you in the direction of a XJS specialist - who at the very least you could discuss and get some pointers. Good luck - you could always post phots and/or blog your progress. Best luck, Dave
  15. Hi Dave, Welcome to the forum and ongoing Jag ownership, hope to see some phots of your lovely X350. Best regards, Dave
  16. Hi Styper, Welcome to the forum and owning, in my opinion, the best looking Jag out there. What model do you have? Best regards, Dave
  17. Hi Bob, Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, looks like you've got a stunner there, I love the colour. Best regards, Dave
  18. Hi Mike, Not sure with the phone, I've loaded mine via a laptop using a web-photo site like photobucket. Once loaded I copy the url and insert using the picture icon above (just beneath the smiley). Only thing to be mindful, if you move or delete the photos you loose the url which looses the link. Best regards, Dave
  19. Hi Brian, Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, lucky man to own a MK2. I echo Steve's point - you'll have to post numerous phots. Best regards, Dave
  20. Hi Harald, Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, you'll need to post a couple of photos and let us salivate over your X and new wheels. Best regards, Dave
  21. Hi Steve, You could try Dayton Wire Wheels, it's an American company which specialises in them (www.daytonwirewheels.com), alternatively go to google images and type in S-Type wire wheels. Good luck, keep us informed how you get on. Best regards, Dave
  22. HI Paul, Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, can't help you with the XK. Best regards, Dave
  23. Hi Nick, welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, from what I've seen (I've only owned a jag for just over a year) the cloudy lights seem to be a probem with the older jag. Just remember to mask off the paint work, I added a couple of sheets to stop spray a little further on the wings and bonnet - maybe I was doing it wrong but the results look good. Good luck, Dave
  24. I think between ebay, piston head, and autotrader there are plenty to whet the appetite depending on the modely you're after - obviously if you need the estate it's going to limit the number. Also if you go for the supercharged version then they are a bit like rocking horse s**t
  25. Hi Smarty, Not seen many V8s? V8 estates or V8s in general?
