  1. My "old" S type R has a glass moonroof, my "new" X doesn't.
  2. That pretty much says it all. To further clarify: When the car reaches door lock velocity @ 7mph, the doors lock automatically. However, when I park the car, I notice that I have to use the key fob to unlock the doors. Any enlightenment is appreciated!
  3. Hello, everyone. I'm not located in the UK, being a retired American living permanently in Northern Italy. I've owned several Jags, and find them to be wonderful automobiles, especially if (like myself) you have a background in cars and a sensitivity to each car's "personality". My first Jag was a 1999 XJ8L with 80K miles, in a gorgeous Amaranth Pearlescent finish, with a beige leather interior. It served me well for over 30K miles with only two minor visits to my mechanic. My next Jag was a 2006 S Type R in "Radiant" Red with a black interior. I still own this car and will probably keep it forever. It's powerful, fast, comfortable, and has everything I could need in a car. I actually prefer driving it to my newer Maserati Quattroporte, which is no slouch but not as nimble in traffic. Photo below. I've had two BRG 5-speed X-types; my first was a 2004 with a beige interior, and now my current second Jag--a 2003 with a gorgeous saddle tan and black interior. Actually, the black is more of a deep olive brown; it's very subtle. This current X-type has only 68K kilometres on the odometer, and presents as a new car in every respect. There is not even a crease in the driver's seat, and the spare has never been down. It's a one-owner vehicle which had travelled less than 2K kilometres in the last 8 years, having been owned by a doctor who sold it on when he turned 91! Below is a shot of the engine compartment on the day I picked it up. I have a question concerning the locking system that I will present in the appropriate area of this Forum. I'm looking forward to continuing my Jaguar enthusiasm with like-minded people!
