  1. Good evening everyone, I'm hoping you can all combine your knowledge and assist me with my issue. I have recently purchased a Jaguar X-Type 2.0L Diesel on an 05 plate, the problem began when I changed the front clippers and disks. Whilst disconnecting the flexy hoses from the old callipers I received an emergency call from my wife and had to rush off, leaving both flexy hoses unclamped, upon my return i discovered my mistake but it was too late and the braking systems had drained under gravity. No problem I thought I'll just fit the new parts and re-bleed the system, this is where my nightmare began post re-fitting the new callipers would not release correctly and were binding, causing the new pads and disks to over heat. Thinking there was air in the system (as you would expect), I purchased a professional pressurised bleeding kit, starting at the furthest wheel from the servo (drivers side rear) then (passenger side rear), (drivers front) and finally (passenger side front). I flushed 5 litres of brand new fluid through the lines and still the problem persisted, so I changed the front Flexy hoses and bled again to no gain, closer inspection led me to the master cylinder, it appeared that brake fluid was attempting to return to the master cylinder, but the internal working were not retracting fully allowing the fluid to return. When I released the hydraulic pressure by loosening the two union bolts on the master cylinder the pressure released and the clippers retracted, yet another full flush with fluid and still the problem remained. (brake pressure builds up brakes lock on/bind). This time instead of releasing the pressure at the master cylinder, I loosened the two bolts holding the master cylinder to the servo, this allowed the master cylinder to fully retract, allowing the fluid to return to the reservoir and released the brakes. I took the master cylinder off the servo and discovered the servos push rod had an adjusting screw where it enters the master cylinder housing, adjusting this screw allowed the master to fully retract when the system is in normal use, i also changed the brake callipers to make sure the first ones were not faulty. System back together and again bleed the air out under pressure whilst pumping the foot pedal to evacuate all air from the master cylinder, the brakes now work perfectly and stop on sixpence, now every time I start the car and depress the foot pedal pulling off the drive instantly the amber warning light comes on and display shows cruise not available. So I have changed out the brake pedal switch which operates the brakes lights, still the problem persists, none of these issues were present until, I purchased a Maxi Check Pro from the internet (OBD2) scanner, plugging it into the car there are no faults showing, but i have this amber light on and cruise not available. What have I done to my pride an joy Please help..
