  1. Thanks again John.. I'm in the effete South and Dudley doesn't work for me (neither does £400), especially if i had to hang around there for the best part of a day. Joe in Staffordshire's previous suggestion of Lano-guard looks promising and I'm trying to persuade my service guy to take on the job. (My son-in-law lives in Florida so is useless as a support resource. I knew my daughter made a mistake, but the grandsons are great, so he's good at some things!) Cheers Gerry
  2. Gawd, what a technofreak I have become in my old age.I see that I have repeated a response to John, when I hope for a note of appreciation to Joe who has been helpful on the same topic of undersealing. Anyway, the info you provided will be very helpful. I have looked a Lanoguard, of which there is much on offer on eBay, and I'll do the Googling you recommended and see where that gets me. Many thanks, Joe.
  3. Cheers (again) John. Looks like we're both involved in the same battle to keep our S-Types healthy! I had to have both sills done, then leaned that the MOT inspectors are not allowed to remove the sill covers to inspect, so I could have left it. Being more than a little OCD when it comes to my cars, I wouldn't have done so, but it shows up the silliness of the rules. Anyway, your underside treatment sounds like what I need too, but my garage wasn't keen to undertake anything like that. Said it would take most of a day. So that's why I couched my enquiry around finding a commercial enterprise which does that sort of thing, similar to, as oldsters will recall, what Ziebart used to do. Any recommendations? Gloucester isn't viable for me, unfortunately. Appreciate your help, whatever. Cheers Gerry

  5. My 2006 S type passed its MOT with the advisory 'corrosion to subframe'. I would like to try to prevent further deterioration, but regular Waxoyling doesn't appear to have done the trick. Does anyone know of a commercial process which does? TIA. Gerry
  6. The restricted programmes service on the standard kit is beginning to drive me crazy. Has anyone experience of upgrading the installed unit?
  7. Thanks John. I bought one of these on Amazon and it appears to have done the trick. For how long, who knows? But here's hoping! G
  8. Hi I am a new owner of an S-Type with dual fuel. The latter, when used, appears to conflict with the engine management system, causing the orange em light to appear. Apparently, this is an MOT fail and I have been advised to acquire a code reader to switch it off. I would welcome advice on the correct model of OBD2 reader to buy to manage this quirk. TIA, Gerry
