  1. I've always loved the Marks 2's. How about some more information? A picture? MOT? As a guideline, the cheapest MK2 on ebay right now is about £6000. Adam.
  2. I've always thought them stupid, I always catch my mudflaps on them. We just had some that must be near the height of a curbs installed not far from my house. On the slight plus side, those fools who "Slam" their cars often get beached on them. Can make for an interesting 20 minutes watching how they try and get them off again! ^_^ Adam.
  3. Of course it depends on the cost, but my father claimed on an extended warranty before too- his spaceship-shape Civic's dashboard display went awol. Not sure how much it would've cost to fix that, but I'm willing to bet he saved a shed load of money by paying for an extended warranty. Adam.
  4. Wow, your a lucky man. Both look sublime. Also, can't help but notice the number plate of the xfr. I see what you did there B) Adam.
  5. Hi Nigel. No problem! Its annoying I can't give you an exact answer. The reason I ask if your sure its water is because a relative had a similar problem with his 09 plate Honda Civic. Damp foot well carpets, no obvious holes or anything. It turned out to be a leaking brake servo, which he got replaced under warranty :) Has cleaning the seal worked? I hope so with all this rain we've been having! Let us know how you get on. Adam.
  6. Hi Syed! Welcome to the club. :)
  7. Thanks for the reply Geoff. Some great info there! I've only been driving for 4 years, and I've always tried to avoid driving in icy conditions. My job means I'll be covering more miles this year mind, so I thought it would be good to find out. To be honest I'm glad you've said that, should save me quite a few pennies :P Adam.
  8. Hi Oldchina, Sounds superb! Get some pictures up if the rain stops long enough to get a camera out! :) Adam.
  9. Welcome to the forum Nigel! If you've not spotted any rust holes under the car, it may be a problem with a door/ windscreen seal. Is your car a sunroof model? Car you determine if its actually water making the carpet damp, or could it be some other fluid leaking from the car? Adam.
  10. Drago, It sounds epic. Ahh I wish my neighbors were more car friendly, there currently daily is a M reg Mazda 323f with what looks like tar spread across the whole roof to cure a leaky sunroof. It still leaks. Adam.
  11. Hi bigphil. The fuel consumption figures on the 2.5 v6 are officially 29MPG combined, although that's a pessimistic figure. I'd imagine early 30's MPG could be quite easily achieved. You should have no trouble towing a caravan with it, you can get tow bar kits online from about £100. Hope this helps. Adam.
  12. I'm originally from Southampton, but I'm now living in Bournemouth.
  13. Whats the one thing you like most about you Jaguar? One sentence. I'll start. The one thing I like most about my car, is the fact I can pop the boot open using just the key. Over to you guys.
  14. Drago, Ahh you mean this video? I found it after reading your question. It sounds great, be prepared for people to turn and look at you as you drive by! Thinking about it, you probably will notice your fuel economy going down a little, this will mainly be your fault as you'll fall in love with the sound of hard acceleration! I was lucky, my neighbors are both tone deaf! Hope it all goes well for you. Adam.
  15. KJO, That doesn't sound too bad! Oxygen sensors would be a bit more of a headache, a family member had to change a couple on her Toyota Rav 4 and they cost about £150 each. Fingers crossed its just the rubber hose though. Good luck. Adam.
  16. Hi Jag fans. I've been wondering if I should invest in some proper winter tyres for when it starts to really get cold. Do they actually make any difference? Are they worth it? Any input would be appreciated. Adam.
  17. Ady, Sounds beautiful! Get some pictures up :) And welcome to the forum! Adam.
  18. Hi again Drago. I've never heard of a performance exhaust having a detrimental effect on the engine/ substantial effect on fuel economy. My previous car had a performance exhaust, and I had no issues with the engine and if anything my fuel economy improved. As for the exhaust, who's the manufacturer of your part? Personally, I love the sound of a fruity exhaust, and I would not worry about having one fitted. Adam.
  19. Hi Brian. I've just searched your problem, and came up with nothing. I do know that you can buy workshop manuals on CD on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-Mk10-420G-420-S-TYPE-WORKSHOP-MANUAL-on-CD-/200849968333?pt=UK_CarParts_Vehicles_Manuals_Litterature_ET&hash=item2ec3974ccd&_uhb=1 It may be worth emailing the seller asking if it covers replacing reading lights though. Hope this help. Adam
  20. Good luck with getting it fixed KJO.
  21. Welcome to the club Drago!
  22. Jaguars just have a great feeling when you hit the right peddle don't they? Its hard to explain it, I own a fast BMW now but I'd pick other halfs dads high spec X-Type over it any day of the week.I hate the phrase, but it really does pull like a train. Adam.
  23. HI Barry. You know, I rather took it for granted there would be a Haynes manual for a car as popular as an S-Type. My mistake! I'd go for the CD-Rom version in absence then. I had a quick look at the panel you are talking about online, and I see what you mean. There is nothing really obstructing the panel, it looks like it could lift right out. I briefly asked a friend earlier who breaks cars if he'd ever dismantled an S-Type just in case, however still no luck. I hope someone else on the forum can give you better advice than me! Good luck. Adam.
  24. Isabellas a great name for a car. On a slightly different note, do we think naming ones car is a male thing? I've always named my cars, as did my father but I know for a fact my mother has no name for hers (Which is a shame, because shes has had the same car for over 10 years now).
  25. This could be a tricky one. Alistairs idea sounds like a good one, I can't help much but chances are it will probably be the immobiliser. Good luck with getting it going. Let us know how you get on. Adam.
