  1. Good evening everyone. I have a 2004 X Type 2.0 D, I would like to replace the AC - Audio control system (like the one in the photo) with the standard digital system but used and purchased aftermarket. my car is in the classic version with no on-board computer or steering wheel controls. Do you think it is possible to replace the units so that everything works correctly without steering wheel controls and on-board computer? The system I would buy comes with a manual and unlock code.. Thanks in advance for your suggestions..
  2. Good morning FalkorYety & Labouffery,my answer appears only now because I had problems with the account (new phone).. I mounted the 4 shock absorbers, new front discs and linings for only €600.00 (531,00£). I'm going to have the car serviced next week and I asked the mechanic to also clean the EGR valve and replace the intake manifold gaskets. My idea is that the accumulated dirt can affect the loss of engine power.. 2 questions: - do you recommend using BARDAHL engine oil? - at how many kilometers should the timing chain be replaced on the 2.0 D? thanks for your replies..
  3. Good morning everyone, I'm Fabrizio and I'm writing from Pozzuoli (near Naples) in Italy. Since July 2022 I have a 2004 X Type 2.0 D, with 101,300 miles traveled, which I am restoring. I have some questions to ask you and I hope you can help me. 1) in fifth gear, at high speed, if I press the accelerator thoroughly the car goes into protection, both lights the light of the spark plugs flashing and the engine proceeds by delivering 50% of the power. When I turn off the engine and turn it back on, everything resets and returns to normal. My mechanic says it could be an injector, but I have strong doubts. Can any of you give me a solution? Maybe it has found and solved the same defect.. 2) do I have to replace all four shock absorbers, where do you advise me to buy them online at low cost?
