    Keep or sell?

Thanks, I think I agree. New tyres and new headlamp too. I will look to tidy up the paintwork and hope for a few trouble free years. You say you had the DPF removed - does that meet MOT regs? Guy
  2. Good evening, I have a 3.0 D Prem Lux XF – 2010 (86000 mls), through the family, we have had it from new. I have had a few of the electrical gremlins and a few suspension issues at MOTs but nothing too extreme. I have had the cambelt changed but not the serpentine belt. It drives very well though does have a “washer coolant low” error on every start – I assume a faulty sensor to be changed at the next service. The paintwork needs some attention – the OSF bumper has rubbed onto the wing and there is a little rust appearing, a ten year old bump repair to the boot lid needs a repaint and there are numerous door dings along both sides. I have been quoted £2,000 to fully repair and repaint both sides and the boot lid. The DPF gives me the occasional yellow warning but clears itself on a run. I assume that at some point this will need addressing. So, my question is do I invest £2,000 and keep the car, or accept it is old (13 years) and will drain my finances more and more. I assume that with the door dings etc, the p/e value would be low and I would need to find significant funds for something similar. The car is lovely to drive and I cannot think of a decent replacement at a reasonable cost, so am erring towards the repaint and continual upkeep. Thanks
