From the other forum, I came to know that Air Baffle is missing on top of the air intake. I have ordered it. Hopefully, that might solve the issue.
On top of it, as you mentioned - planning to seal the gap between scuttle & the windshield with some silicone sealant.

Glad you’ve fixed the problem.
Unbelievable to think someone removed that and didn’t replace it.
I’ve been servicing my S Type and was shocked to see all the shoddy work previous owners or mechanics had done on it. The guy I bought it off didn’t seem the type to work on it, and there’s a history of Jaguar service; therefore I can only assume that a qualified mechanic - probably a Jag mechanic - is either a useless mechanic, very stupid, or just doesn’t give a !Removed!. Crazy. Bolts/screws removed and not replaced, spring clips fitted in inaccessible places, etc. I’ve given it a full service and cleaned the MAP and MAF sensors (MAP was filthy), and now she runs like a dream. I even swapped the spring clips for jubilee clips so that the air intake pipes can be removed easily in future.
Moral of the story? Do as much yourself as you can. Take it to a garage only when you feel completely out of your depth or just don’t have the specialised equipment to deal with it.
Hope your XF is - or will be - running smoothly.

This is a common issue on many cars, unfortunately.
The only way to remedy it is to perform some kind of DIY weather seal between scuttle and screen. You may have to get inventive on this one, I’m sorry to say.

This topic has really depressed me. Only joking 😂🤭😉

Just sounds like little quirks and eccentricities, kinda like when you meet a cute girl and she’s a little nuts. It’s just part of her charm 😆🤭😉
Incidentally, one of the rear doors of my S Class doesn’t lock with the rest and one of my wing mirrors won’t electronically fold all the way in lol. What can you do 🤷🏻♂️😉👍🏻

I hope you managed. I’m considering cleaning mine. I believe it’s on top of the engine, held down by a single screw. I noticed four other sensors on the side, but I haven’t looked into what they are yet 🤷🏻♂️

Canny trek, but maybe one day, if I psyche myself up for it and get some new tyres fitted 🤭😉👌🏻

Just serviced the old S Class.
New cabin filter fitted
New air filter fitted
New fuel filter fitted
New Oil filter fitted
Engine flushed
Old Oil removed
New Oil added
tyres inflated
Battery charged
CD changer installed
Diagnostic check performed
Tank filled with premium diesel
Cleaned inside and out
I wonder how much a garage would’ve charged me for that 🤔😉

Hope you got this sorted.
I just bought a 2005 S-Type without a changer and am about to attempt to fit one.

Hi
Marty: Trad, straight, White man, aka, public enemy number one. New owner of a 2005 S-Type. Nice to meet you all.
Wanting to add a CD changer. Car has sat nav and phone, and room in boot under sat nav for cd changer. Have ordered a cd changer. Whether it’s the right part or not remains to be seen. Any advice on how to fit it will be appreciated. If no advice is offered, will attempt to fit it without help and let you all know how it went.
All the best

Anyone out and about?
Sometimes, I can’t think of places to go, even though I really want a ride out.
I always stayed local, but since buying a 2004 S Type 2.7 Diesel in another city and driving it home, I really started to enjoy long rides, especially on the motorways (not one for country roads).
Does anyone else like to go on road trips/excursions in their Jag? It’s something I really want to start doing.
All the best
