Have had my brilliant XJ SWB 2014 for four years without any real issues but recently have an irritating "charging system fault" intermittant warning light. Local garage have tried but without success to diagnose. 'Swallows' ( J22 on the M5) have been recommended but 1.5 hours drive for me. Can anybody recommend a local (to Gloucester/Chelt) garage, with sufficient diagnostic capability, who will not want the nonsense main dealer £216 per hour with no guarantees just to look. Obv happy to pay a normal mechanic hourly rate £70/80 per hour.
