  1. You will need to determine the part number and the link below should allow you to do that. Xk 2006 - 2014 (from B00379) (x150) / Radiator Hoses-v8-4.2 Litre-supercharged (4.2 Litre Supercharged) | Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts N6 JMX
  2. Incidentally, if you are looking for a Club that deals exclusively with the Modern XK, you could think about joining the XKCC, see link below. The annual membership fee is only £10 and well worth it for the camaraderie and outings alone. Home | XKCC N6 JMX
  3. Welcome aboard Jim, and I hope you have many happy miles in your XKR Convertible - Zero. As you will note if you have already been trawling in this section of the Forum, there is a lot of knowledge and a willingness to share this with fellow Enthusiasts. If you have already suffered from the dreaded tin worm on your unfortunate XJ, then I am assuming that you had the underside of Zero fully checked out ahead of purchase. The main body may be aluminium, but that doesn't guarantee no corrosion, just a different version, but the underside has steel subframes that can get into a really poor state very quickly. This is especially the case if the car has been used year round and seen salted roads or, strangely enough, if the car has spent some of its life living by the seaside. Let's see a few photos when you can. N6 JMX
  4. I think the part number you require is JLM21457. Typing this into a search engine comes up with multiple hits, at least some of which claim to have the parts in stock, including British Parts, for £65.02 + VAT. jaguar xj6 xj12 bonnet hood strut |British Parts UK Appreciate you are overseas, but most of these suppliers are familiar with delivering overseas. 5. Good luck with the sale, but can't help think it would be better to have posted in the Marketplace Section of the Forum, at the bottom of the page. Unlikely folks are going to come looking in the Model Section of the Forum for cars up for sale. N6 JMX
  6. There's a classifieds / for sale section at the bottom of the Forum pages - go there. N6 JMX
  7. If you have a friendly local Jaguar Dealer, though scarce on the ground, you can get a code from there associated with your VIN. Alternatively, there are any number of scam artists on the interweb offering to unlock radio codes. N6 JCM
  8. Hi Dale, if you type Amirante Alloy wheels into a search engine, you get lots of hits, particularly for new wheels readily available from the likes of Alloy Wheels Direct and Jaguar Accessories. Not cheap though. N6 JMX
  9. Your best source of correct part numbers for all things Jaguar is the Jaguar parts website, link below: Genuine & Authentic Classic Parts | Jaguar Land Rover Classic Parts Just click through the prompts until you get to the model and system you are interested in. N6 JMX
  10. Dim lights usually points to a poor earth connection. Check the earth point for corrosion on the relevant headlight. N6 JMX
  11. Hi Mark, that does sound very unusual to get a battery drain that fast. Have you checked the lights in the vanity mirrors behind the sun visors? If fitted, these lights on the vanity mirror stay lit all of the time if the sliding cover is not closed over, even when the sun visor is flipped back upwards. Obviously try and view your car in a dark space to see if there is any glow that can be spotted, but otherwise it would seem you can rule out courtesy lights. Do you have any other accessories installed that could be taking power when normally they should power down with the ignition off? Something like a dashcam? Finding a power drain is not a simple task unfortunately, especially when there is nothing obvious like something illuminated. Hidden drain on the battery could be the battery itself, try charging up the old / removed battery if you have it and connect it to the car via suitable jump leads, whilst having the newly installed battery disconnected. If the old battery also discharges rapidly, then your issue lies within the car and not the battery. N6 JMX
  12. Hi Ivan, I don't have experience or knowledge of the issues you highlight, but as an engineer I am not prone to believe in coincidences, but in cause and effect. You state your engine made some ticking noises on start up before the timing chain replacement and now it makes a harsh metallic rasping noise. As an engineer, we always look back at what was undertaken immediately prior to any change in the noise / note. In your case, changing the timing chain has resulted in a noise that should never be present in any mechanical rotating machinery. Your first port of call should be with the garage that completed the work and they should investigate and correct - at their cost. It could be that something was reinstated incorrectly, or something was left inside the engine - socket, nut, etc. N6 JMX
  13. Hi David, excellent, well done. Enjoy a new project and get it out and about - they do need to be used, even if sparingly. N6 JMX
  14. Hi Les, I think I would consult a suitable petrolhead solicitor as the comment by the garage is just plain dumb - no-one dips their oil or checks the level of the work completed by their dealer ahead of driving away. Hatfield's are trying it on. In the past, I have had an oil leak on my drive after the dealer returned my car without having replaced the washer / seal on the sump plug - their fault and fully rectified, including a full underbody clean-up where the oil had been spraying the underside of the car on the drive from the dealer to home. N6 JMX
  15. Hi David, you should be aware that in a normal braking system the fluid should be replaced every 2 years as brake fluid absorbs moisture and that is not good in a braking system. This would be why the garage did a brake fluid replacement during the service - it is standard every second service, N6 JMX
  16. Event now past and hailed as another success with over 100 Jaguars on the Museum forecourt and raising nearly £2,000 on the day for Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA.
  17. You can purchase data only SIM on places like Amazon, they come with a data limit and a time limit, i.e. if the data allowance is unused after the set time elapses, then the SIM needs to be replaced. Alternatively, you can purchase a data only SIM and Plan from sites like UBIGI, where you pay a monthly subscription for a set data limit. Suggest the latter as more cost effective. Select a low data limit plan and then keep an eye on usage via the App. If you find you are using more that the allowance, you can always up the plan. As an example, I have a 500MB monthly renewing plan in my car and the only time I run over the 500MB is when we are away on continental holiday - the I get an additional one-off top up plan. N6 JMX
  18. Hi Adrian, I believe JLR deleted the ability to speak with a "real person" - for our convenience. The Jaguar side of the InControl seems to be fraught with difficulty, but not the Land Rover side for some reason. There is an online "self help" booklet, see the link below, don't know if you have already gone through this route, but it might help you get to the CRC (Customer Relations Centre). MyJaguarLandRoverInControlManual_en_GB.pdf N6 JMX
  19. Have you checked / confirmed that other door touch sensors are working? Occasionally one door sensor seems to stop playing, but the others all work. The faulty door sensor then comes back after a few iterations. N6 JMX
  20. Hi John, better to list your car for sale in the Marketplace section at the bottom of the Forum pages. One more post here and your car disappears off the front page and not many are going to look for a car up for sale in the Technical Model section. N6 JMX
  21. Hi Marianne, no car should discharge its battery so quickly, there has to be a significant parasitic drain happening. Have you checked the obvious like boot lights remaining on? Interior lights are more obvious over time, so I assume you have ruled those out. However, there is one interior light that is a little harder to spot and that is the light in the vanity mirrors, behind the sun visor. If your car is fitted with vanity mirrors and appropriate lights and also has the sliding screen across the mirror, if you don't close the sliding screen to cover the mirror, the vanity light remains on, causing a large battery drain. N6 JMX
  22. Good call, check the simple and easy fix stuff first. The breather would be an obvious thought. N6 JMX
  23. Hi Lee, you don't say whether this has just started or has been with the car since it came to you. Is it hot oil smell, or simply an oily smell as you would get with a spill of fresh oil onto the carpet? N6 JMX
  24. Hi David, the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, link below: Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust N6 JMX
  25. Hi David, get on to the JDHT and get yourself a Heritage Certificate if there is not one already with the car/ This will give lots of information on the build and initial delivery. N6 JMX
