  1. I have rented a lock up to store my XKR, otherwise it would be on the road all the time. Upside is its roomy. Downside its a 25 minute walk or need jump leads if left for too long. I suspect my garage at home may be too small, its certainly full of stuff I may never need (ie pushbike, cement mixer and boxes of stuff from a previous life!

  2. I certainly enjoyed myself on Saturday, and was so relieved to be able to bring my purring, sometimes growling beast! Very good company overall, and a really nice day.

Well done Peter for stepping into Paul's shoes, and Paul - I hope all goes well for you both.

I took one or two photos, and will post them when I can (a) find the lead to connect camera to laptop, or (b) get a card reader of my own rather than 'borrowing' one from work!

Hope to see you all (and more people besides) in the coming months.

  3. Hi Steve,

Count me in please, from Pease Pottage, with my XKR (2001) and a passenger - not sure who yet but I think my son enjoyed this year's trip, so he may join us again.

Yesterday I joined Old Peter and Others (11 cars in total) at Gaydon Heritage Museum for a West Midlands meet. Some of us were a little disappointed at the relatively low turnout compared to promises beforehand, but nevertheless a good day out. Pics are still in the camera but will post one or two when they find their way into my laptop!

Can you remind me again why there is no longer a bi-annual event in the south-east?

    Best wishes to all,

    Steve (Pablojag1)

  4. Hi to you all in the Midlands. I haven't been very active lately (mostly down to losing the link to this website/forum; but did go down to Steve Sheldon's meet in Brighton last bank holiday. It was good with at least 50 cars attending! Sadly though I had a prang after, some idiot tried to turn left through me on a roundabout - a real damper but hope to have the car back next week.

More to the point I would be interested in a Midlands meet - I went to one at Gaydon, must have been 2013 and enjoyed it. Does anyone have any contacts at the Jaguar factories, who could blag a visit? Just a thought  ...

BTW Old Peter if you see this i still have your prize from that meet over near Derby - I no longer have direct cause to drive up to Sutton but a mate lives in Burton so could swing by if I  go visit.

  5. Hi Guys

I also enjoyed the day, and reckon the Jaguar presence was far better than all the others put together! it was particularly good to swap notes with other XKR owners ...

Peter - my day job takes me around Warwickshire looking after their bridges, so sometime in the next week or so I should be able to get up near the Sutton Coldfield area to hand over your prize. I am away this weekend so it wont be til next Tuesday at the earliest, but rest assured the pack is in my boot ready for the opportunity.  How best to contact you?

Part of being away this weekend is joining the car meet in Brighton on Sunday - around 40 cars altogether in Brighton, about 30 or so meeting in Crawley for a cruise down the A23. Should be fun, methinks.

    Best wishes to all,

    Pablojag1 (aka Steve)

  6. I couldn't agree more about the xk. I have an older model, drives beautifully and looks the business to boot! Mine needs a bit of cosmetic work but so far (18 months I have had it) appears 1st class mechanically.
