Hallo all,
This is a question from the Continent - last week during a longer travel, my S-type Jaguar (3-Liter benzin, manufacturing year 2004) fell several times in a fault condition: several warning lights went on and 3 fault messages rotated on the message display - motor control failure, DSF not available, parkbrake not functional (I am not sure about precise wording of the messages). The engine remained running (brake-booster remained functional) but did not react to accelerator pressing. After a car stop, switching engine off and on again, everything worked as normal with just the yellow information icon on engine problem was on. The Jaguar service I went in found several error messages in the error buffer but did not find the cause and the engine problem icon came off after cca 1 hour stop interval in the service, too. The only common condition just prior to the onset of the failure state (it happened 4 times during a cca 1300 km long drive) I can recollect were changes between cruise control (tempomat)-on and off due to the need for sudden breaking and/or acceleration. Rather long intervals (several hours of drive) between the condition onset also suggest possible association with temperature. But the temperature of engine coolant indication on the front panel remained absolutely constant during the whole drive.
Can anybody advice?
Franta
