  1. P1582 Flight Recorder data is stored if any of the following occur: 1. Inertia Switch is activated 2.Throttle 'Limp Home' mode 3. Engine starts and stutters 4. Engine fails to start 5. Engine stalls If any of these have occured, the stored code is showing that relevant data is stored. Dealer level diagnostics is required to interrogate this data. If non of them have occured, check: 1.Inertia Switch to ECM circuit for a short circuit to B+ voltage 2.Inertia Switch failure If you clear the code and it doesn't return, then a temporary out-of-range signal has been the most likely cause. Graham
  2. If you ask nicely at your local Jaguar Dealer, they will do a printout from the Direct Dealer Warranty System giving the full build specification of your vehicle. Graham
  3. Peter, Thanks for the welcome. Although I'm happy in the world of DTC's, the adjustable spanner and lump hammer still have their place in my toolbox for the times when technical solutions fail! Graham
  4. Trevor. Thanks for the welcome. I hope you and your XJ have stayed out of trouble in the recent storms. The south west looked to be getting a terrible pounding. Graham
  5. Hello to everyone, I thought my first post on the forum should be an Intro. Rarely been without a Jaguar over the last forty years. Currently driving a 2007 XK Coupe which replaced my previous 2005 XK8 ln November. Took the XK8 down to Gibraltar last Summer and have just returned from France with the XK. That probably means my favourite road in the UK is Junction 11a on the M20 leading to Eurotunnel! Have always done my own maintenance. Originally this was to get me away from working in IT but the way engine management has gone in recent years, the two have almost merged. Graham
