Does anyone know where the locking module is on a xf as my remote does not work and I have to insert my fob under steering to get it started. Been to jaguar they said they could replace at a cost of over £1000,if I knew where it was I know someone who could repair it a fraction of price.

Recently the module has blown on my xf,now i have to use key to unlock and lock my car and also insert the fob under steering column to start my car. Does anyone know where abouts the module or ecu is located for a jaguar xf on a 08 plate, I would be much appreciated of any info on this. Thx Steve

Yes very expensive lesson to learn,problem is theres no way you can check if the dpf have been removed,and i bought my car from a dealer with 6months warranty.I should of took it to jag dealer for updates before warranty ran out.

I bought my xf about 8months and took it to jaguar garage to have software update loaded to car, ever since then had alot of problems with the car so i took it back to jaguar for them to sought problem out, and the problem was the dpf had been removed so i had to pay the £2000 to be put back in. running a dream now,so if i decide to buy another jag ill make sure that i dont get stung again ie dpf.

A very good point you made there ie brake light switch,ive told jaguar uk and they said first they checked. it seemed to be the new car battery i put on, needed to be syncranised to the car ie talk to each other also software update needed to be installed to the car. gone the days you cannot do simple task to mend little problems on car nowadays

ive been experiancing starting problems on my xf,when i press start button nothing happens and everything shuts down ive replaced car battery and smart key batteries seem to resolve problem for couple of days. and now its cuasing same problems again. ive just wondered if might be something to do with cold start.any ideas thx

Thx for your comments,my son now considering selling his m series bmw and buying a 12 plate xf after being in mine.and joining this club aswell,ive must off started a trend in jags in family.
