  1. Richard I am really considering getting rid of my xj now I know its more or less a common ford. I bought the car as a change fom bm&audi don't like mercs father does. and to be honest its quite good. int not bad. audi seats better thou. shape I like prob why I bought it, and to be fair its been fine no probs old pete is prob right but the facts sent me into a panic for an hour or two was searching websites looking for replacement, ive only had it 8months now but defo don't like the idea that its more or less made by ford. and customized by tata. audi is good Richard really good a4s a6s very common mate has a7 very good had a spin in it quatro s-line 245 very good . maybe a bit slower than the xj but not by much . was hoping to hold on to her for another two years then maybe r10 audi faster than ftype. and now I know feel robbed , if I wanted a ford would have bought a focus or a Mondeo but at 35k cash feel raped

  2. sorry to hear of your problems douglas. it seems to be the norm with jaguar to have bad customer care, and to be frank I would take it back to them. take legal advice to what your rights are car is only 3mths old for gods sake, take your case up with local cab office they offer good free advice. if it was me I would be taking it back and walking away from it. was surprised to learn the other day that jaguar still use ford engines in all their cars xf,xe,xj, ftype as well as other parts

  3. hi chris welcome. like you I am on my first jag about 5mths or so. an xj portfolio,  warranty just expired but I have no issues. having owned mostly bms &audis its a change from them and liking it so far, jaguar is no better in the fact it brands itself as a premium car make. the same as them, and like them owners experience problems. its just the luck off the draw mate you pay your money ect European cars are full of elec probs. aving read on this forum and other jaguar forums a new battery can solve these. but your car is only 4years old nd should be fine check your battery ect. years ago I had a bad exp with an audi in the end got rid off it, lost a few bob in doing so thou. you could ask the members on here or on the jaguarforums.com (bigger site) off your  problems and you get help. but I have found that jaguar customer services are a waste off time they don't want t know. the xf is a cracking car is a pity that you are having issues regards joe   ps. look up an indy jag specialists near you trythem

  4. it seems the usual no matter the car maker, once they get your money then that's it its down to the dealer to resolve  and make the peace. like me they are a franchise thank god we only sell food, but we get complaints all the time from the tomato slice not sitting  correctly on the burger I could go on and on. so we are similar in respect that we sell regardless off what the product to the public . whom can have a honest complaint .the  pr  dept is necessary in handiling any complaints and  we   invite them back to the store for a free meal. or give vouchers ect but you do get some complaining all the time for the freebies . my point is you have to have the right  services in place,  and a car regardless of make is many thousands of pounds compared to a burger meal but the principle is just the same. I am sure jaguar is not alone in bad customer services. good workers are hard to find . joe

  5. hi scott I personally like autoglym but every one to their own. I get mine valet once a week. guy uses them mostly but have caught him using poorboys products and 3m tee cut green bottle, I asked him t(tony) what they were . he said the likes off t-cut wer the basic product only good for shining the car . but for taking out light scratches and swirls  he uses the 3m  abrasives  to achive the ultimate finish and uses a machine to do this guys fantastic and a real pro. he has a client list as long as your arm .  my father also uses him for his cars . ps try this site jaguarforums.com  big and beautiful  joe

  6. im with jim on that. I have found that this site can for some reason or not seems to have more moderators than members. guys with only 100 posts . sorry  I don't want to be one. im not retired nor unemployed. I joined here fee free. I don't desire a mug or a tee shirt. I joined  for the love I feel for my present car, my first jaguar, an xj. I like the car  a break from the germans for me. and if I can share the love I have for my car with other jaguar users then all the better. firstly this lady asked for advice,i done my best not being mechanical minded to give her some, taking time to research  ie looking on other websites eBay ect to   help her in their plight and get her car back on the road . its better than the costly road shes going down. she will owe them money after taking the car but that's life some has deaf ears . in my my mind the gent offers good advice and I would like to commend you jim for all your hard work in getting the scots meet up and running looks great wish I could come(work stops me ) lord H spot on mate. all cars regardless of make model ect have faults. no doupt I will be black balled for speaking out by the old and decaying brigade that runs this friendly site  joe
