  1. Hi John and thanks for your input! I have not come across any conversions for the 2 ltr but I am happy to stick with the dual. The trouble with a garage doing the job is finding one that has done them before and that is reputable, that's why I do all my own repairs. There is a jag specialist in my area but on the two occasions I have phoned them they have not been that friendly or helpful, but if the sub frame has to be dropped then you are right in saying that it's not a job for doing on the driveway, so maybe some phone calls are needed to be made. 2. Hi Skelly, I do believe we do a dual flywheel fitted and I have heard that it's best to change the flywheel along with the clutch, but I am hoping someone from here will be able to give honest opinions on this and not what I've been told from garages. I have replaced clutches in other vehicles before, but never on a dual flywheel, so I've turned to those with the knowledge. I know some parts from the mondeo fit the x-type and was wondering if this is one of them, like from the ST220 and if it's any smoother on gear changes, as the gear changes have never been real smooth, but lately they really cluck in the first 4 gears when being changed. Hopefully someone will soon enlighten us with their knowledge. :)
  3. Hello all! I am starting to have a problem selecting first gear so I am having an educated guess that my clutch is on the way out. The car is a 2002 2.1 V6 petrol with nearly 100k clocked up. It has recently started to clunk through the gears too, so I am wondering is there an after market clutch which is smoother on gear changes? or is the Jaguar the best there is to offer? Can a later clutch be fitted, if so are they smoother? Is it a difficult job to do? Any and all info will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. Sean
