Hmm... brown trousers time
I suppose at least you know that the fault reporting functionality is working even though you thought it was a wallet emptying situation. Bet £30 from a motorway service station didn't get you far?

Give this one a wide berth
You would have to check the pointing on it first though

Old Mans car? Fact? or Fiction?
48 when I got mine. With age comes wisdom

Give this one a wide berth
Must admit it does look good in the pictures though. Guess the "loads of paper with this car" were the empty cement bags then?

Key Fob, being very silly, and annoying!
Thanks for that guys. I'm not in any rush to get them fixed at the moment as they do both work eventually at the moment. I'll get a locksmith when the time comes though. Cheers.

That's handy to know Elvis. Mine are a bit hit and miss. Did you have to send the keys away or are they local to you? Thanks

Help needed
I think I read somewhere that the sender is under the rear seats. Somebody with more knowledge than me will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure. Was the gearbox okay before it was laid up? Would seem to be related to lack of use if so.

Help needed
Sorry to hear that. Has the car not been used for a while? Perhaps a gearbox service with new filter and fluids might be worth a shot first. Fuel sender shouldn't be a big problem though should it? I know how it feels to have a load of issues building up and its easy to get fed up but I hope you manage to get it sorted.

Battery Reset Document
Good useful information. I tried to reset my windows as per earlier post I put up. I only managed to get the drivers window to work with one touch down but not one touch up. None of the other windows will operate with one touch. I've looked in my handbook and it does say that this is the case so surmising that it's a feature that's only fitted to newer models. Thanks again though for the info

CD / RADIO change
I know that you can buy adapter cables for the steering wheel controls but don't know if there is one for the s type. This one on eBay says that cables are available in the advert but I would be inclined to ask just to be sure. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-S-Type-CD-Player-stereo-Kenwood-DPX-405BT-Bluetooth-Handsfree-USB-AUX-/131666166091

CD / RADIO change
Can't comment on the radio a part from looks OK for the money. I'd be making sure it will work with your steering wheel controls and cd changer if you have one, if that bothers you of course.

Single press window operation
Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I'll give it a go tomorrow. Cheers

Single press window operation
Hi guys, I'm curious if my car should have single press rather than press and hold for opening the windows? The global opening / closure works so would have thought it should have? Cheers

How's that for service?
Blimey. It almost arrived before you ordered it.

New on here. Quick intro
Hi guys, Been lurking on here for a few months now since i got my car and just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I've been mainly a Ford man since ive been driving. Owned most the classics from XR and RS range but always said to the wife I wanted a Jag when i retire. A few years from that now but came across this S type from a bloke I work with by chance. He practically gave it away as he wanted rid of it due to some issues the car has. Like i said have been on here doing some research and found a lot of great advice to point me in the right direction. Thanks. Here is what i know so far Both rear suspension arms worn (rear tyres worn on inner edge) ABS and DSC warning lights (only came on recently after previous owner was forced to make an emergency stop) Damp in rear footwells. And some smaller issues like the steering column adjusts when it feels like it and wheels a bit scabby with one missing the centre cap. Anyhow rest is very good. Here are some pics.
