  1. I have recently noticed a barely perceptible thud or soft clunk when pulling away and at very low speeds. When at walking pace and I come off the throttle then press it again it as if there is some slack being taken up in the transmission. It feels like its from the rear, not steering of g/box. I'm thinking a bush of some sort, suspension? Anyone experienced anything similar? Nothing picked up on recent MOT. Gary M.
  2. Thought so. Good to see you here.
  3. I will seriously bear that in mind Paul. I miss my choice of music.
  4. Hello t-cut. Sounds familiar???? Gary M.
  5. It wont talk to the car Paul, it needs coding I think. Unfortunately I've been busy with work, the house and of course San's health. On a positive note I'm just starting to go part time at work so will have more time on my hands. I hope. Gary M.
  6. Had the Jag for a year now, doesn't time fly when you are having fun? Thought I would post up how I'm getting on with it. I've covered some 6210 miles and used 238 gallons of fuel at a cost of £1243.97. Gulp. This gives me around 26/gal, not bad considering. Soon after purchase I had to have a new radiator and rear discs fitted as well as a driver's door mirror. Earlier this year had 5 tyres fitted as they were showing their age, other than that nothing. Its annual MOT came back perfect - no advisories - not bad to a ten year old car. Still need to get the multi-cd installed properly though. Love it to bits; quiet, comfortable, powerful. What else does one need?
  7. Well it passed its annual with no advisories. Its 10th and 10th with no advisories. Nothing found with the H/B either but the battery was leaking so it had definitely had its day. Hopefully that was the cause of its little hiccup over the weekend.
  8. First of all apologies, not been on much lately but then I started having problems with the Freelander, G/Box so sold it on and bought a Jeep Cherokee. Needed a few things sorting as second hand motors do. But can you believe it the G/Box is playing up, thankfully it's a manual so no huge costs. Anyway not been driving the Jag much, done a little over 200 miles in over a month. On the way into work last night had a H/B fault on the dash, can't remember the what it said but managed to get it into a lay-by and out of harms way. Switched it off, re-started it, still there, did the same and it cleared but with the EML light on. Work was only a short distance away so managed to get it there safe and sound and parked up. When I went to it this morning (work nights) it was fine and drove as one should. Just checked the battery and it's showing 12.1 volts, the Jeep on the other hand with its new battery is showing 12.7. The battery is the original, it has Jaguar written on it, so guessing it's 12 years old???? I've booked it in for its MOT and service on Tuesday, will ask them to check the H/B just in case. But think it deserves a new battery anyway. Sorry for the hijack of the post, but think it's always good to keep similar problems together. Ta.
  9. My wife's RAV4's alarm would go off for no apparent reason during the day when in the sun. I changed the battery in the key fob and it no longer goes off.
  10. Thank Joe for the quick reply. Thought along those lines as the remote I use is the spare, will use the OE one for a while. Ta Gary M.
  11. Had this twice now, first time was in a public car park. Only left for about 10 mins and on my return it was open, thought I must have caught the fob when putting it in my pocket so thought nothing of it. However had a call from security at work today to say the boot was open, thankfully a colleague had shut it for me. I've searched on here but nothing, has anyone had something similar? Gary M.
  12. Kerridges in Needham Market got me a new key and had it coded for £150.00/
  13. Was thinking that Paul, it will be sometime before I get the chance to come over. Never mind though, thank you for the offer. I purchased a riv-nut tool and an assortment of nuts, will no doubt have need of them in the future. Thank you again. Gary M.
  14. Yes Paul, only managed to get it fitted yesterday. It powers up but does not play, so it looks as if I have to get it coded. My local trusted garage has, I believe, access to someone who can code it for me, they did the replacement key. So I'll see they can, if not there is a local independent specialist who should be able to. Gary M.
  15. Changer and bracket arrived today, thanks Denis. Will hopefully have it fitted the weekend. Gary M.
  16. Checked the insurance via MIDB and is showing insured - Thank you PBIS. Checked on line the MOT and Tax and both showing - Thank you DVLA And of course thank you to Joe for the info saying it could all be done on line. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy. Gary M.
  17. STJ would be good on our cars. Gary M.
  18. Ohm - resistance. I'm supposed to be an Electrical Engineer of sorts, am thinking what my colleagues will say when I go to work in it, did consider AMP as well. I also considered V77 MEB as this was the year I started work, 1977, for the pre-privatised electricity Board, Midlands Electricity Board, but went for this instead. I may still get the MEB one for the Landy. Have always wanted a private number plate but could never see one that was appropriate. Many years ago when driving aroung Wolverhampton in my MEB van I followed a Mk3 Escort - PEP 51Y - guess if still available would be worth a small fortune today. Thing is with PNPs they are rarely obvious what they mean. But I've fulfilled two promises I made to myself over the last 6 months or so; getting a Jag and a private plate. Next one is to retire in around 2 years, that's the big one. Gary M.
  19. Should be there now chaps? Gary M.
  20. Thanks Joe, that was easier than making my breakfast this morning. Will print the document off and get them made up today. There's no indication on the form you can do this. Thank you. Gary M.
  21. It doesn't say that on the form Joe. Will Check it out though, thanls for the tip. !Removed! M.
  22. Mine's so much more impresive. Anyway received the V750/1 form today, will be back in the post tomorrow. Gary M
  23. Update. I've done the deed off DVLA. I'll update as and when. Gary M
