And also have breakdown cover with them but i am covered rather than the car which they are wanting £150-08 and this only covers the UK and is not great as i go over to Ireland sometimes on the ferry if any members can suggest a better breakdown cover it would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Did you try us for insurance at all? If you did were we a long way out? I appreciate it can be quite difficult to secure competitive premiums for drivers in their 80's The majority of the car insurers in the UK won't provide a quotation for new customers in that sort of age group I'm afraid.
