Hi everyone, i have just bought an 02 reg X-Type, my second such car. No manual, as seems to be the norm these days, so does anyone know why, after about 30 seconds of travel, an alarm/the horn briefly sounds for no apparent reason.

It keeps scaring me to death!

welcome paul. im sure some one on here has an idea whats wrong. charlie

Welcome to the Club, Paul.

It must be electrical so the first thing I would do is to check the connections to the horns.  Getting the WD40 out could be a good idea, and much gentler than the lump hammer.

Regards,

Peter.
