Navigation Map Updates (USB)

I recently received a nav map update on a usb drive for my 2011 XJ-L.  

 

The installation instructions seemed very straight-forward (start ignition, insert drive in USB port, follow on-screen instructions). 

 

However, when I insert the drive in the USB port, absolutely nothing happens.  I tried several times, each time waiting for at least 10 minutes for some sort of 'reaction'...but, nothing.

 

Has anyone else had this problem??  If so, and you were ultimately successful, please enlighten me on what you did to get the update installed.

Welcome to the Club, Tim.

 

I am afraid I have the old-fashioned system that uses a disc.  But there are several members with the USB system who will be able to assist.
