X Type Auto Box Has Lost Reverse

Hi can anyone tell me what could be the problem with the auto box in a 2003 4x4 v6

It has lost Reverse gear .. all forward gears are working fine .. Is it worth getting fixed and what sort of money am I looking at .. It is a car I am buying to swap the interior as it has a lovely leather one .. can anyone help

I have never come across this issue before, but there could be a member who has.

 

A new/reconditioned box is a touch expensive.  I will have a look at what is around and get back.

I have had a look around and a reconditioned gearbox costs between £500 and about £750.  There are various sites you can google.
