Auto gear knob replacement

Hello all,

 

Just picked up an '05 plate 2.1 V6 SE Auto and so far I'm very pleased. One thing that grates though is the gear selector knob is cracked and discoloured. I want to replace it but as the colour doesn't match the wood or leather (dark brown) trim at all I wondered if anyone had replaced with a knob from another model? Or if it's worth rubbing it down and re-varnishing/painting it?

 

Any suggestions (apart from obvious 'knob' jokes ) would be appreciated.

Hi Ian and welcome to the club.

 

I used to have an x type with a manual gearbox and the gear lever was in black leather with the growler badge on top. It looked rather good.

 

I am sure that others have changed the gear lever knob, and  I guess that could be the best option.
