A 2 year warranty is very good.

My wife likes the XF Sportbrake, but I don't think I can get her to prise enough cash out of the coffers.

Plus the fact that one of my sons will always want to borrow it when he goes on holiday!

The good news is that my s type is going beautifully!

Peter.

Joe, with all due respect, you sound like a dealer and a Arthur Daly version at that.

peter I am nearly half your age, I know the s-type was a good car but I am younger, not in to dated or older cars I know the s-type was a good car in its time,. but I like the more modern looking cars .and jaguar are facing the future and the completion face on. and have some great cars now. I recon in 3-4 years from now ther will be lots more jaguars on the streets as the geri lot bu at your age now point in changing now if your happy then keep it

Kenny I liked that one. I watched that when a boy. always fancied being a dealer. but I am to soft& honest . but  am a retailer  (family are franchise owners of well know American fast food co) no was just trying to get you guys to upgrade

I would upgrade today Joe to an F Type however, my Bank Manager wouldn't agree with the idea

Kenny the pension reforms come in to place in a few weeks and the home guard brigade will be running about in lambos and ftypes hence my post. just trying to get cleaner air than wat comes from the smelly old x and stypes lol

I doubt that my annuity of 63p a month will get me a bike.

The emissions on a diesel S Type are quite low, and the CO2 much lower than the equivalent petrol model.

The efforts of owners of older cars to keep their cars in pristine conditions should not be disregarded.

There is more pollution from a London 'bus than from a dozen diesel cars, as pollution comes from vehicles stopping and starting  and ticking over than anything used for longer runs.

sorry to hear that pete. regarding the emissions thou. even wen on the motorway ect you can tell the car in front is diesel wen they change gear black smoke from tail pipes.  I have a diesel xj most cars I have had wer diesel next will be petrol sports job. but their are big plans ahead for diesel cars.  france has said that diesel cars will be banned from paris from 2018. and their is talk of putting diesel up in price&higher taxes road tax on them. in ten years there will be no diesel cars ect on the roads. a new petrol car now a days gets 40-50mli to the gallon but no cancergenic fumes

Hi Joe,

You cannot disinvent the car.

Not many people can afford new cars, and that is a fact.  So they will buy second hand ones.

Sixty years ago the majority of working people lived close to the factories, coal mines, and docks in which they worked, and even then there was much better public transport to get people to their place of work.  Since that time cars have become cheaper, and working men and women have to travel much further to their place of work, and with less public transport the car is a necessary item.

I used to work in a steelworks in a small Lancashire town and out of the workforce only 5 had cars,  the MD, the works manager, the Stores manager, the Sales Manager and the Chargehand electrician. Everyone else came on their bikes, the 'bus or walked it.

They cannot disinvent the car, and the majority of people in this country cannot afford new cars.

The diesel engine, properly cared for has minimal emissions, about half that of the equivalent petrol car, and with twice the mpg of a petrol even less.

You will see diesel cars on our roads for a long time in the future.

Regards,

Peter.

time will tell peter

I have a Mercedes CLK 270 Cdi which I use for work and it returns me as much as 54 mpg driven carefully in the Welsh Valleys and that is up and down some big hills. I make sure its serviced regularly and ensure the oil is changed twice a year

Just a quick question on this. Should all Jag dealers be offering this 2 year warranty as standard on 'approved' used Jags? And is it on any particular model(s)?
