Is there an auxillary power connector in the boot?

Featured Replies

I've just been told that there is an auxiliary power supply connector hidden behind the off-side boot trim panel.

Can anybody confirm that please?

Yes, I've seen the fitting instructions on it.

Taped up in the top corner when you take the panel off and there's a cutout in the panel too

When I can I'll dig the instructions out.

No problem mate, happy to help.

Well,

fitting the socket took a few minutes

I do like the way Jaguar include little things like having the wiring already in situ.

Unfortunately, there is no power to the ignition controlled wire :(

Relay 10 in the boot fuse box and fuse 32 in the footwell fuse box seem to be the obvious candidates.

Unfortunately, it's hissing down here (would be of course, this being August Bank Holiday weekend), so diagnosis will have to wait until tomorrow.

I will have a look over the week end, but you will find you require a relay in the drivers footwell fuse box (you will see a vacant position for it at the eLeft hand end of it, forward, engine end) and also a fuse in there, again a vacant location, can't remember what fuse number, will find it when I get home!

I can assure you it is how I described lol Ive had the same the same discussion before, my wiring diagramm pointed me in my direction, and I have the socket working in the boot,to prove it and a friend had a wiring diagramm indicating you view, we resolved it by exchanging drawings to prove the difference.

I wasn't doubting you Stanley :) Sorry if I gave that impression. This is the first time that I have found the wiring diagrams to be wrong. Forewarned in future though.

In fact, as soon as I put the car in the garage where it's relatively dry I had the cover off the fusebox in the foot well and sure enough the relay was missing, although fuse 32 was there.

Popped in a relay and away we go. Cool-box in the boot keeping cold when we drive down to Devon now :D  All we need to compliment it is the warm weather that will make a picnic complete.

Thanks very much for the pointer Stanley.

:D I'm so pleased that I haven't caused offence Stanley. This is one of the most friendly and civilised fora I've ever been involved with and I'd be mortified if I'd offended anybody, especially unwittingly.

Yes, loads of new faces for me to meet... at the meet
