Hello everyone.

Don't know why I didn't join some time ago.  I've been running a 2004 2 Ltr D X Type Estate since 2007 and have racked up 202000 miles in it.  Only because I need guaranteed reliability to do long journeys at night, have I now bought a 2008 2.2 D Sovereign Estate in met red with only 40000 miles on it. Its got enough bells and whistles to keep 100 monkeys busy for 100 days and I'm impressed. Oh that Jaguar voice! And the car's in fantastic fettle.

When I was in my twenties and driving 'saloon' cars I said that if Jaguar ever produced a 2 Ltr estate car that had a good mpg, I'd get one. Well I did and I've been loving every minute of it.

These cars may be some people's idea of a jumped up Ford Mondeo, but they are just the unknowing, blethering about the unknown.  My old Jag that I still have, regularly returned 58 - 60 mpg.  I can even tow my caravan at a steady 30 mpg with it, and I don't hang about. The newer car does 52 - 54 mpg.  I can forgive it because of the extra power and on the motorway it positively purrrrs.

My only real complaint is that I can't seem to get front discs that don't vibrate slightly when the brakes are applied.  This has been a problem with both cars.

I hope that joining this Club will be as positive an experience as owning the cars has been.

Happy driving to you all.

Kev

Hi Kevin and welcome to THE JAGUAR OWNERS CLUB, sound as if you are impressed with the marquay?

Welcome to the club, Kevin.

The Jaguar experience is unique. My S type is the best car I have ever driven, and I have been driving cars for over 50 years.

The club is a friendly and helpful bunch of people, and sharing experiences and information is a key to why there are a lot of members.

Regards,

Peter.
