Speed camera warning

Featured Replies

Hi Guys...

Is it possible to add speed camera alerts to the sat nav on the x-type 2.2d  ?

Don`t know if this has been asked before ...

Cheers

That`s a shame Peter , I always found that a bonus on my C5 nav ......

You would think it could be added to the update discs you can buy , just ordered a 2012 DVD , £19.95 posted ...

HI

I think it can be done, but its very complicated

you need a kiwi file editor

which will edit the kiwi files on the jaguar sat nav disc, where poi are stored

then you can add the speed camera database off pocket gps world

then once edited you would have to burn it to a new dl dvd

started to look into it myself, but not had chance

cheers

Yeah it does sound a bit tricky Joe.....

I have bought the last updated DVD ,2012 version but I guess it won`t come with speed camera alerts...

I`d be very interested to know if you manage to do it mate , maybe you could let me know ..

When I get the DVD I`ll see if I can make a copy and look for that kiwi file ...

Cheers

Or just include the speed camera alerts on the upgrade dvd`s ? , as it seems all the navigation runs from the dvd , I don`t understand why its not included ...

I upgraded my sd card for the nav on my previous car ,Citroen C5 and that came with the updated speed camera`s  ....

So if it can be placed on an SD card why not a DVD , odd ...!

Hi

like every thing else its old hat now and there no money in it for jaguar

they want you to upgrade to a newer car, with newer gadgets

on later xf's you can add poi and speed camera's with a usb flash drive

there no money in it for after market people either, every body got a free app on there phone that will do a lot better for free, apps like google maps, copilot and tomtom

all these do it much better with free speed cameras, traffic and much more

I want a NAVTOOL, this interface's with the nav unit in the boot, then i can just plug my phone into the hdmi and it all comes up on the original jaguar nav screen

but there a bit dear still, at £299 all in shipped to the uk

cheers

Wooo that`s pricey joe ..

My new 2012 upadted

dvd  arrived today so I`m gonna have a go at finding the kiwi file and see if I can add to it, to get speed camera alerts.

Will post if I have any luck

Ray .

Hi

yes its pricey, but i think price will drop on it

its quite a new model at the moment as its just come out with HDMI on it

it also has 2 video in on it so you can add other stuff like reverse camera or anything with video in

I just want the Hdmi in, so i can use my android phone on it, then with google voice, I can access everthing on my phone, handsfree, voice controlled.

cheers
