NEW TO FORUM AND NEED HELP

Hi Folks I am new to the form and need help I am on my 2nd Jag and this one I have at the moment is the 2.7 diesel turbo on a 05 plate with approx 112000 miles.

 

I have had a few minor issues but recently when i would excellarate I noticed smoke coming from the exhaust and now its belching out when i start it up in the morning and at times it takes a few turns of the key before it kicks into life

 

when it pulls away all seems fine apart from the engine light coming on, can anyone help.I have tried to get it into my mechanic but he has gone on holiday.

 

would also ask if anyone knows of any decent mechanics or even a mobile mechanic in the East Kilbride area or South Lanarkshire.

Looks like a fuel problem.

 

What colour is the smoke?
