Have just read on another post that you can get water ingress in the auto gearbox via the radiator cooler had the same problem on a Land Cruiser I had which I had to have a gearbox rebuild at a cost of 2k when I did I had an air cooled rad for the gearbox fitted instead of the water cooled one which worked very well just wondered if anyone has had the same on the Jag as I intend keeping mine for a while and wondered if it would be worth doing

Hi Gordon

Not heard of this issue on the jaguars before on the ZF 6HP26

auto's seem quite strong, with only problem being poor changes between 1st and 2nd, 2nd to 1st, which is cured by a software update

cheers

Hello Gordy

A couple of years ago I had this problem with my 2004 4.2 V8. By chance the first symptoms occurred when I was near a Jaguar main dealer and they diagnosed exactly what you described in your initial post. I then took the car to an independent Jaguar specialist who came up with the same diagnosis, water ingress via the radiator cooler.

Sorry to hear that you suffered the same problem with your Land Cruiser, can lightning strike twice in the same place?

Very best,

Jim

Hopefully not Jim just wanted to know if this was a common problem with the S,Type as it is with the D4D Land Cruiser
