Purchased a lovely 2006 S Type a couple of weeks ago and it really is a great car apart from problems I have found.  First one is I have water ingress in the drivers footwell when it rains and the last owner fitted Cobra parking sensors to the front and they constantly detect things which are not there and driving in the rain sends them crazy.  Anyone had similar problems or have any sugestions to fix, help much appreciated.

HI John,

Water ingress can be an issue that is hard to detect.  I had the same on a Ford Escort a long time ago and eventually found that it was the absence of a grommet in the wheel arch. That might be the place to look.  Plasticine can be a good solution!

The parking sensor issue might be solved by replacing the Cobra sensors by Jaguar ones - eBay is a good source.  Meanwhile I would switch them off.

Maybe those members more electrically  savvy than me will have a solution.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi John

a short while ago JOE-DOT-COM supplied a link to a very useful website, there are a couple of documents that may help in regard to water ingress, I have a similar issue with water in the spare wheel well

Regards

Steve
