I have a 2004 2.7 diesel with 171.000 on the clock. Recently I suffered lack of power on pulling away and on kick down. I put the car into my local Jaguar garage and they said it was an EGR valve fault and possibly a turbo fault. They have changed the EGR valve along with a pipe and clip and a side light bulb at a cost of £ 1054.00. The fault is still there and they say a turbo needs to be renewed at a cost of £2900.00. To say the least I was gob smacked at the cost. My question is, how hard is it to change the turbo if I bought a second hand turbo and did the work myself. Or can someone point me in the right direction for a cheaper quote.

Electronic Turbo Actuator for Jaguar S Type.   look this up on ebay and read what it says. if this is you then that may be the part you need? just check that yours is the electronic actuator first as there are two types?.. best of luck ...
